Colin's Music

Colin James-His self-titled debut, this album contains classics such as Five Long Years,Why d'you lie, and Chicks and Cars. Five Long Years is definitely one of the best tracks on the album, but my personal fave is Why d' you lie, which has catchy lyrics and great saxophone. Chicks n'Cars is a great 'driving'tune, with a jazzy feel to it.
The other songs are great too.

Sudden Stop-A collection of ballads and rock tunes. The
most well known song from this album is Just Came Back.
The lyrics are cleverly put together. There are some covers on this album, including a duet sung by Colin and Bonnie Raitt, which sounds great. Sudden Stop is a more romantic tune.

Little Big Band-This album features a collection of Big Band songs recorded by Colin. Songs on this album include Surely,Cadillac baby, Breakin' up the house and Cha Shooky Doo. My personal favorite is Leading Me On.

Bad Habits-This album features some great blues songs. My favorites on this album are Standing on the Edge of Love, and Freedom. Freedom was used on a Hyundai car commercial.
Another awesome song is Bad Habits.

National Steel- Colin James&Colin Linden(two Colins)
Some great blues on this album. My favorites include Your mind is on vacation,National Steel and Postman's sack. These are also great 'driving'tunes!

Little Big Band II-Colin and the Little Big Band together again with some more classic Big Band tunes. My favorites are Safronia B and C'mon with the C'mon. These songs make me wanna get up and dance!

Fuse-Colin and Craig Northey from the Odds.
Fuse contains excellent tunes like Mystery to me, Get Carried away and Hate it when I see you cry.

Traveler-My favorites are Make a Mistake, Sending a message, Anywhere is home and She can't do no wrong.

Craig and Colin:two cool dudes from Van City!

Colin at the Tulip Festival May 2001

I had the extreme honour and pleasure of seeing Colin James perform live at Major's Hill Park in Ottawa.Colin performed many of his new songs from " Fuse" along with former frontman of the Canadian rock group "The Odds"Craig Northey. Colin also performed his older tunes like " Just came back" and "Why d'you lie". He also sung "Domino" by one of his favorite singers Van Morrison. Colin received three encores! He was funny, and entertaining and made cracks about Stockwell Day! After the show, I anxiously lined up to meet my favorite rock star in person. Colin was so polite and kind. He autographed my copy of " National Steel". He was nice enough to allow me to get a pic taken with him. Colin is a lovely man, and a very talented musician.

Update: On July 14, 2002 I had the extreme pleasure to see Colin perform live at Confederation Park for the Blues Fest here in Ottawa. I didn't get very good seats and the lighting was poor, so I couldn't see Colin too well. He wore his trademark black shirt, black skin-tight pants, his hair slicked back and he had his famous turquoise guitar.Needless to say, Colin was a real crowd-pleaser once again. His humour and wit really added to the performance, as he made a few cracks about making so much noise that we'd drive the politicians out of Ottawa! Truly, Colin's wit, charm and outgoing nature add to his appeal with audiences all over.
